Status of Major Risk-Informed Initiatives

- Five license amendments issued so far this FY

- An additional six LAR approvals anticipated by September 30

- Staff presented with significant challenges in review regarding deviations from uncertainty guidance and interfacing systems guidance

  • NRC staff led successful workshop on Key Assumptions/Uncertainty July 18, 2019

- Four TSTF-505 license amendments issued so far this FY

- One TSTF-505 SE for near-term issuance

- Other License Amendments recently completed successful combined audit at Exelon (Braidwood, Byron, and Limerick)

  • Received positive feedback from licensee regarding Staff conduct of audit

- Six TSTF-425 license amendments issued so far this FY

- Two TSTF-425 LAR approvals nearing issuance 44

Fire PRA Realism Significant Progress Made on Addressing Fire PRA Realism Topics Most EPRI/RES Reports are All but one Fire PRA FAQ nearly complete are closed

  • Ten FAQs were resolved, post public comment withdrawn, or period consolidated into
