Amendment to application dated 9/24/79 Request for renewal of License R-ll7 Docket No.
50-356 The University of Illinois requests to change the period of the rene.eal from a 5-year period to a 10-year period.
Thus the period of renewal for the Low Power Reactor Aaw mbly (LOPRA) would be from November 1, 1979 to November 1, 1989.
The purpose of the change is to relieve the pcper work that would be required for the shorter renewal period. Originally it was felt that the license should be reviewed more frequently by the local administration for continued operation, llowever, it is recognized that this is still possible since the License can be terminated at an earlier time should conditions warrant this decision.
It is felt that the information sent with the application is sufficient for this change.
