PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION September 19, 1979 PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION OF EVENT OR UNUSUAL OCCURRENCE--PNO-79-430 This preliminary' notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBLE safety or public interest significance.
The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff on this date.

ALLEGED DEFICIENCIES IN STRUCTURAL STEEL A television reporter contacted RIII oi: September 19, 1979, and advi:;ed that an individual who had contteted him earlier on structural steel problems could provide specific locations of structural deficiencies.
The reporter advised that he expected to have the information by September 24, 1979, and would provide RIII with the specifics so that an inspection could be performed before airing the worker's complaints.
RIII plans to perform an inspection when specific locations are received.
The State of Ohio will be informed of the matter.
