Dear Mr. Grier:
This letter serves to supplement our letter SNRC-390, dated May 16, 1979, regarding longitudinal weld defects in ASME SA-312 Type 304 stainless steel pipe spools manufactured by Youngstown Welding and Engineering Company.
We have completed the investigation to determine whether welding fittings (el-bows, ties, reducers, etc.) manufactured using Youngstown Welding and Engineering Company welded stainless steel pipe starting raw material have been used at the Shoreham site.
as This investigation revealed that no fittings as described above have been used in the construction of the Shoreham Plant.
