Dear Madam and Siro:

On June 25, 1979, The Detroit Edison Company issued a press release stating that, "in view of a virtual suspension of licensing activity by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the company's planned Greenwood 2 and 3 nuclear generating units will probably be delayed about 18 months, setting back their scheduled completion dates until late 1990 and 1992, respectively."

Detroit Edison has been informally advised that both the environmental review and the safety review of the Greenwood application by the Commission's Staff have been suspended until January 1980. Accordingly, we anticipate that the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board 7908200 n 801 W
