Expiration of Certificate of Compliance No. 9250 for the Model No. 5X22 Package

Notification Regarding Decision to Not Request Renewal of Certificate of Compliance No. 9250
Dear Sir or Madam:
In response to your letter dated July 8, 2019 (Reference 2), BWXT Nuclear Operations Group, Inc., Lynchburg (NOG-L), will not request to renew Certificate of Compliance (CoC) No. 9250 for the Model No. 5X22 shipping container. The CoC for USA/9250/B(U)F-85, 5X22, type container expires on October 31, 2019. The last shipment from NOG-L in 5X22s was made in June 2010 and the containers have been out of service since August 2016. A commitment in the NOG-L commitment tracking system has been initiated to obsolete the 5X22 Safety Analysis Report for Packaging (SARP) and associated 5X22 procedures in the NOG-L document management system.
