- Norma,
The excerpt below is from the UFSAR, Page W.1-4. These components are all the same and therefore they perform the same safety function.

Good morning,
Thanks for your prompt response. From the email below, then, the cask support skid supplemental shielding and the transfer cask trailer shielding perform the same safety function. Please confirm this assumption.
- Thanks, Norma

Norma/Marlone, As a follow-up to our phone conversation a short while ago.
As discussed in Form # 50, CoC Condition II.3.b.1 informational content is carried over directly from the existing approved TS terminology as currently in TS 4.4.1. (No changes)
Form #6 indicates that CoC Condition 3d is removed from the CoC as it was not required as part of the CoC Certified Design and is already in the UFSAR. (No changes)
In response to the staff inquiry as to whether the cask support skid supplemental shielding and the transfer cask trailer shielding are the same, the answer is that they are the same shielding components.
- Regards, Doug

Good afternoon,
The staff looked at amendment 15 of CoC No. 1004 (see attached document). The language in amendment 15 is correct (see the middle of the last paragraph on page 2 of the CoC, Amendment 15). The CoC for Amendment 16 needs to be revised to be in alignment with the language in Amendment 15.
Thanks.
Norma

Good afternoon,
The staff reviewed Table W.2-1. The cask support skid supplemental shielding and the transfer trailer are different. It seems that the CoC should mention the cask support skid supplemental shielding. If that is the case, then, the CoC and related TSs need to be revised.
- Thanks, Norma

Clarification Question: Form 6 (ID CoC Condition 3d) and CoC Condition No. II.3.b 1.
Importance: High
Good afternoon,
The staff needs clarification on Form 6 (ID CoC Condition 3d) and CoC Condition No. II.3.b 1. Please clarify if the support skid supplemental shielding is the same as the transfer cask trailer shielding. It appears that the applicant may be using the term transfer trailer shield instead of support skid supplemental shielding (e.g., II.3.b 3).
I will appreciate your response at your earliest convenience.
