ACCEPTAf!CE FOR REFERE0CING OF LICEhSillG TOPICAL REPORT WCAP-8252 REVISI0tl 1 The Fuclear Reculatory tonmission has completed % review of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation Licensing Topical Report WCAP-8252 Revision 1 dated May 1977 entitled " Documentation of Selected Westinghouse Structural Analysis Computer Codes". This report provides a description and verification of selected conputer codes used by Westinghouse for analysis and desigr of primary structures and components. The objective of the report is to satisfy the requirements of Standard Review Plan, Section 3.9.1 concerning docunentation and verification of computer prograns used for analysis ani esign of mechanical systens and components. The summary of our evaluation is attached.
As a result of the review we find that this is acceptable for referencing in utility license applications.
We do not intend + repeat the review of the safety features described in the topical report and found acceptable in the attachment. Our acceptance ap) lies only to the features described in the topical report and under the cenditions discussed in the attachment.
In accordance with established procedure, it is requested that Vestinghouse Electric Corporation publish an approved version of these reports, proprietary and non-proprietary, within three conths of receipt of this letter. The revisions are to incorporate this letter and the attached topical report evaluation following the title page and thus just in front of the abstract, as well as appropriately incorporate prior responses to requests for inform-ation. The report identifications of the epproved reports are to have a -A suffix.
