PROVISIONAL OPERATING LICENSE NO. DPR-45 IE BULLETIN NO. 79 SEISMIC ANALYSES FOR AS-BUILT SAFETY RELATED PIPING SYSTEMS

Dear Mr. Keppler:

In response to Item 2 of the subject bulletin, the following infor-mation is presented:

"..... inspect one system in e. h set of redundant systems...."

LACBWR has no redundant piping systems which are normally accessible during operation, and therefore none were inspected.

"..... inspect...all nonredundant systems....."

All safety related piping 2 inches and greater in diameter in safety related systems has been inspected.

The results of the inspection have been compared to the as-built drawings and no discrepancies nor deviations from the as-built drawings exist.

Included in the inspectionjwere pipe run geometry, i.e.,

lengths of pipe runs, orientation of pipe appurtenances and attachments, pipe L 1202 256 0102400]

Pipe supports, design, location, function, and settings were verified to be in accordance alth the design drawings.

There are no pipe (seismic) restraints, designed as such, installed on LACBWR piping systems.

No piping, within the context of this bulletin, is embedded.

All valves, 2 inches and greater, in subject systems, were verified as to their locations in the systems, and are in accordance with the design drawings.

Valve operator orientation was determined and weights for all valves (including operators when applicable) were obtained and recorded.

All of the above information will be utilized in the seismic analysis input information in accor?.ance with the commitment in Reference 2.
