II;FOT.iT10ft 0:1 RECENT TCPSD0 AT GFR;D CULF Per your request en the above, attached is a note from Cecil Thccas, the
[. -
LPH. At our request, Dr. Costello (the Task !'anager on TAP A-38 on Ter-nado Missiles) visited tha si'.e, together with other U2C staff and imC consultants.
Uhile there was significant datage at the site, it uas largely due to falling construction cranes. The tornado was a relatively small one (probably less than 150 aph).
It appears that if the plant had been operating there would have been no significaat daTage to the facility, except possibly to the switchyard (whichsustainedheavydam. age). The utility staff remarked that if the facility had not been a nuclear plant the danage could have been tore severe (e.g., there night have been significant decage to the turbine).
Extensive photographic evidence was collected and revicws are still in progress by all parties.
