Thenas Rystens Safety Branch involved: Analysis Branch Revic'i Status: Conplete The Analysis Branch has reviewed Section 4.4 of the Grand Gulf FSAR and recomend that it be accepted for docketing. There is no description of a loose parts nonitoring system for Grand Gulf although there is a statment that General Electric is developing a vibration monitoring system for B'JR6. The LPMS manufacturer's sensitivity specifications shall be provided.
The LPMS rust be operational and capable of recording vibration signals for a signatura analysis at the tine of initial start-up testing.
A description of the mittoring equipment including location and basis for alarm settingssshall be providad in the FSAR. Anticipated cajor sources of internal and external noise rust be provided along uith plans to uintuize these sources. A description of precautions taken to insure the operability of the LFHS after operational basis earth-1 quakes is required. A detailed discussion of the operator training progran for operation of the LPMS, planned operating procedures, and record keeping procederes is required.
