PRELIMINARY MEETING ON RADIOLOGICAL EFFLUENT TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (TS) FOR MAINE YANKEE A preliminary meeting was held, August 17, 1979, between the NRC staff and representatives for the YAEC to discuss the proposed amendment for Radiological Effluent TS (RETS) modifying the Appendix A of the license, DPR-36. Enclosed is a list of the attendees.
The licensee had provided the proposed RETS on March 15, 1979. The staff reviewed the proposed RETS and provided a markup and corar.ents at the meeting.
Major comments included the need for a specification on the solid radwaste system, projected dose limits for the use of radwaste systems, contents of the Offsite Dose Calculation Manual and Process Control Program and changes that have been made in the model RETS NUREG-0472 (Rev. 2), July 1979. Edit coments were also recomended, in order to include all items contained in the model RETS in the licensee's Appendix A format.
The licensee will revise his proposed Radiological Effluent Technical Specifications and provide his Process Control Program on Solidification about September 20, 1979.
At the same time, the Radiological Assessment Branch will write coments on the Offsite Cose Calculation Manual for Maine Yankee to be forwarded to the li:ensee within 30 days.
