Dear Mr. Larchuk:
During the early days of the recent incident at the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant, the need for rapid transfer of large quantities of written and graphic information became urgent. One of the means to transfer this data to and from the Nuclear Regulatory Comission personnel responding to the inci-dent required the use of high speed facsimile equipment compatible with that already installed at our Headquarters and regional offices.
Your company was contacted, and you responded in a comendable manner by taking exceptional action to deliver and install your equipment within a twenty-four hour period.
It has been brought to my attention that two of your employees, Mr. Fred Strobel and Mr. Frank Sipics, were instrumental in the actual installation and check-out of the equipment, under very trying conditions.
I am further informed that these gentlemen demonstrated qualities of high technical competence and responsiveness to the urgency of the situation.
Would you please convey the appreciation of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission to Mr. Strobel, Mr. Sipics, and to your other employees, unknown to us by name, who were responsible for providing us with much needed capa-bilities in such an expeditious manner.
\\ Sincerely,
\\\\
