In our renponnea to IE Unlletin 79-06A, Revision 1, of April 24, 1979 and June 25, 1979,, we committed to provide a description of the des 1 n 3

modifications, the necennary operating procedurca, and a schedule for t rapl emen t a t i on of rnodificationa necessary to allow the reactor coolant pumps to continue to operate af te.r SIS and CIS to your office by July 31, 1979 (responaew to itemu 7.c nnd 4, respectively).

Subsequently, IE Uu]Iorin 79-06C haw been issued and received.

In light of the req ui rcra an t s of ti.at Hulletin to immediately trip all reactor coolant purups in11owing a 11PI initinted by low Reactor Coolant Sy s t ein prenmure, we have stopped work on the above-mentioned design change, Jdentification of procedures, and nusocJnted sniety evaluationw.

Our responne to IE nulletin 79-06C will provide a more necurate description of the method w* plan to pursue regarding operntion of renctor coolant pumps fo]Ioving n lo,es of coolant accident.

No other renponse will be forthcoming regarding the above mentioned modifications to allow reactor coolant pumps to continue o pe ra t i ng, as identified in our previous responses to IE Bulletin 79-06A.
