Dear Mr. Munro:
This is in reference to your letter of April 15, 1977, petitioning the Commis-sion te amend 10 CFR Part 34.21 with regard to surface radiation level limits for ra_,ographic exposure devices.
Your petition was docketed as PRM-34-1.
The NRC staff, af ter careful consideration of your petition, has concluded that adoption of changes proposed in your petition would lead to dif ficulties for licensees without a corresponding benefit in improved public health and safety.
For these reasons and others set forth in the enclosed Federal Register Notice, your petition is denied.
