SUBJECT:

MINUTES OF MEETING BETWEEN REPRESENTATIVES OF DUKE POWER COMPANY AND NRC CONCERNING THE PHYSICAL PROTECTION OF SHIPMENTS OF SPENT FUEL FROM OCONEE TO MCSUIRE Representatives af Duke Power Company, Charlotte, North Carolina requested that a meeting be arranged to discuss their proposed plan for shipments of spent fuel.

The meeting was held at 9:00 am, July 11,1979, in the 6th floor conference room of the Willste Building, Eastern Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland.

The following persons were in attendanc.. :

Barre Duke Power Co. - Steam Production Licensing George McCorkle NRC/SGPL Don Kasun NRC/SGPL Charles Hillman NRC/SGPL Marty Mitchell NRC/SGPD Brett Spitalny NRC/FC Richard Hoefling NRC/ ELD Due to the proprietary nature of the information being discussed, the meeting was declared a closed meeting and information withhcid in accordance with 10 CFR Part 2.790(d).

JUL 191979 The discussion cantered on alternate routes proposed by Duke Power Co.,

and their corresponding advanteges and disadvantages. Other aspects of the proposed plan cluding communications also were discussed.

The applicant stated that the formal request for route approval would be submitted to the NRC within a few days.

The meeting was adjcurned at about 10 AM.
