Inspection No. 79-01 This refers to the inspection conductec by Mr. E. Epstein of this office on April 27, 1979 at the University of Pennsylvania, of activities authorized by your Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) General License and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. Epstein with yourself at the conclusion of the inspection.
The inspection was an examination of activities conducted under your NRC General License as they rehte to compliance with the NRC's Regulation 10 CFR 150, " Exemptions and Continued Regulatory Authority in Agreement States under Section 274."
The area examined during the inspection was limited to the installation of a 10,000 curie cesium-137 irradiator at the University of Pennsylvania.
The inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures, interviews with personnel, measurements made by the inspection and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no items of noncompliance were observed.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulatiens, a copy of this ietter will be placed in the Public Document Room.
