JUN 2 7 7373 Mr. J. 0. McBride Oklahoma City Airports District Office Federal Aviation Administration Department of Transportation 204 FAA Building, Wiley Post Airport Bethany, Okk.homa 75008

Dear Mr. McBride:

SUBJECT:

COMMENTS CN THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT FOR RUSSELLVILLE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, RUSSELLVILLE, ARKANSAS This is in response to your request for comments on the subject document.

The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission staff has reviewed this document as it relates to Arkansas Nuclear One. None of the proposed sites are within five miles of Arkansas Nuclear One. The recomended site is located from 8 to 9 mile; from that plant, although the instrument approach path for the proposed runway <ould pass within a few miles of it. The proposed airport would, like the existina Russellville Municipal Airport, be a " General Utility" air facility. Any change in aircraft risk to Arkansas Nuclear One from the proposed action would be negligible.

Thank you for providing us the opportunity to review this Draft Environmental Statement.

Sincerely, hk Wm. H. Regan, Jr.)( ^-ting Assistant Director for Environmental Projects and Technology Division of Site Safety and Environmental Analysis
