In March 1979, the BWR/3 Owners and Ver nont Yankee requested General Electric to provide documentation, consistent wi'.h Reference (1) to serve as a basis for a rule to resolve the Anticipated Ti ansient Without Scram ( ATWS) issue.

The attached copies of the report " Assessment of BWR/3 Mark I Mitigation of ATWS in Response to NUREG 0460", (fiEDE 2 '669), provide an assessment of the ATWS mitigation capability for a typical 3WR/3 assuming NUREG 0460 Alternate
