Citizens for a Non-Nuclear Future P.O. Box 4160 IN RESPONSE REFER Evansville, IN 47710 TO F01A-19-253 Gentlemen:
This is in response to your undated letter in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, that the Citizens for a Non-Nuclear Future be placed on a mailing list for flRC publications.
For your information, the Freedom of Information Act does not apply to reco d which are to be created at a future date.
In addition, NRC does not have mailing lists for routine distribution of its publications. For these reasons, we are unable to place your organization on a mailing list to obtain all NRC publications automatically in the future.
- However,
~
we have arranged to place the Citizens for a Non-Nuclear Future on mailing lists for NRC's " Weekly Press Releases", " Proposed Rules", and the " Monthly Listing of NRC Publicly Available Documents."
Most NRC publications are distributed on the basis of programmatic need.
For example, Environmental Statements on a proposed nuclear power plant are distributed only to those persons who have expressed an interest in that particular plant or have commented on the Draft Environmental Statement. Moreover, these publications, as well as NRC regulations and other reports distributed for public comment, are available on written request, free of charge, if extra copies are available when the request is received.
NRC has made arrangements with the National Technical Information Center, Springfield, Virginia 22161, to sell its publications to the general public. In addition, copies of NRC memoranda and correspondence can be purchased from a private reproduction contractor who services the NRC Public Document Room at 1717 H Street, N.W., Washington, DC.
Also, NRC publications are supplied to the U.S. Depository Libraries.
Sincerely, (b wO
