This refers to the QA Progra= inspection conducted by Mr. L. E. Ellershaw of this affice on April 24-27, ]979, of your facility at Laconia, New Eanpshire associated with the fabrication of co=ponent supports and to the discussions of our findings with you and =e=bers of your staff at the conclusica of the inspection.
This inspection was cade to confir that, in the areas inspected, your QA Program is being ef fectively i=ple=ented. The inspection effort is not designed to assure that unique quality require =ents imposed by a custo=er are being i=ple=ented; nor to assure that a specific product, co=ponent or service provided by you to your custo=ers, is of acceptable quality. As you know, the NRC requires each of its licensees to assu=e full responsibility for the quality of specific products, co=ponents or services procured from others. You should therefore not conclude that the NRC's inspection exempts you fron inspections by an NRC licensee or his agents nor f ro: taking effective corrective action in response to their findings.
Areas exa=ined and our findings are discussed in the enclosed report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of an exa=ination of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspec:cr.
During the inspectice it was fcund that the imple=entation of your QA Program failed to =eet certain NRC require = ants.
The specific findin;s and references to the pertinent require =ents are identified in the encle:,ures to this letter.
Please provide us within thirty (30) days of your receipt of this report a written state =ent containing, (J.) a description of steps that have been or will be taken to correct these ite=s, (2) a description of steps that have been or will be taken to prevent recurrence, and (3) the date your corrective actions and preventive ceasures were or will be conpleted.

=ake a written application within chir:y (30) days to this office to withhold such infor=ation from public disclosure. Any such application =ust include a,-
full statement of the reasons on the basis of which it is clai=ed that the infor=ation is proprietary, and should be prepared so that proprietary infornation identified in the application is contained in a separate part of the docu=ent.
If we do not hear f res you in this regard Oithin the specified period, the report will be placed in the Public Docu=ent Room.
