Dear Ms. Hauser:
This is in response to your request dated May 9,1979, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, records concerning the reactor operators at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Plant 1.
You requested information regarding 27 licensed individuals.
Our ret ords indicate that there are 25 licensed individuals at Davis-Besse.
We have confirmed this number with facility management.
Enclosure I is a list of licensees, their license numbers, effective date of the license and summary of their experience.
Licenses expire two years from the effective date.
Enclosure II includes test results without identifying the individuals.
We have also enclosed a copy of NUREG-0094, NRC Operator Licensing Guide.
We did not administer simulator examinations to the Davis-Besse operators.
We conducted the oral operating tests at the facility.
This is our normal practice as of the date of this letter.
NUREG-0094 addresses the scope of our examination.
The Davis-Besse personnel received training at the B&W simulato, located at Lynchburg, Va.
The simulated control room is modeled after the Rancho Seco Plant, which is physically different from the Davis-Besse control room.
However, the systems, instrumentation, and controls are in most cases identical, and in all cases similar, to those at Davis-Besse.
This completes action on your request.
