Keppler Nuclear Regulatory Commission Director of Regulatory Operations Region III 799 Roosevelt Road Glen Ellyn, Illinois 61037 Dear Mr. Keppler; As has been our policy in the past, Zion Station will periodically be requesting the of f-site support agencies to reaffirm their acceptance of their existing agreements with the Commonwealth Edison Company.

Enclosed is a copy of the agreement.

If this arrangenent is satisfactory, please sign and return the letter to my office.

As a part of this agreement, the station will conduct an annual meeting for members of your crganization to visit the station, discuss the station emergency plan, and becone familiarized with plant facilities.

In addition, Zion Station offers appropriate radiological training or retraining to rnenbers of your organization.

If you winh to feceive this training now or in the future contact Frank Rescek, Health Physicist, 746-2004 Ext. 237.

AGREEMENT BET'4EEN THE NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND THE COMMO!MEALTH EDISON COMPANY FOR RESPONSE TO AN EMERGENCY ALERT AT THE ZION STATION Commonwealth Edison owns and operates the Zion Nuclear Pover Station.

While it is highly unlikely, the possibility of an accident at the Station involving the release of radioactivity does exist and Commonwealth Edison Company is interested in ensuring the safety of the general public as well as on-site personnel.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission agrees to respond to a request issued by the Station in the event of an off-site emergency.

The Station will notify t'.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission of the severity of the emergency and will make recommendations as to what action should be taken.

Commonwealth Edison Company agrees to keep the Nuclear Regulatory Commission up to date on any changes or modifications to the existing emergency plan.
