In the Matter of Long Island Lighting Company (Jamesport Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2.)

Docket Nos. 50-516 and 50-517

Dear Mr. Like:

Your letter of April 25, 1979 addressed to c.:e Commission has been referred to me for response.

You acknowledged receipt of a document dated April 13, 1979, entitled

" Distribution of Board Notification" concerning the nuclear incident at Three Mile Island. You also noted that the Board notification was distributed to the members of the Jamesport Atomic Safety and Licensing Board. However, you note the document in question was apparently not distributed to the New York State Siting Board in Case #80003.

You requested that a copy of the document be forwarded to the Siting Board by this Commission.

The document in question was forwarded by the Staff to the Appeal Boards and/or Licensing Boards and the respective parties in all pendir.g proceedings.

In Jamesport, it was sent to the Appeal Board and all parties on Staff Counsel's Appeal Board Service List.

Included on this list, as a courtesy, are the three gentlemen who sat on the Jamescort Licensing Board.

You are correct in noting that the docume'1t was not sent to the State Siting Board.

Since the members of that Board are not parties to the Jamescort proceeding before the Ccmmission, they are not on Staff Counsel's service list, and have never requested that they be placed on that list.

I am enclosing fifteen copies of the notification in question.

However, since I do not have the names or addresses of the specific members of the State Siting Board. I suggest that you forward the enclosed copies to the Siting Board members.

Sincerely, WMu%yf V '
