e License t'o. 40-02331-05 flotice of Violation Based on the results of the td.C inspection conducted on March 21, 1979, certain activities appear to be in noncompliance with NRC regulations and the conditions of your NOC License ib. 40-02331-05 as indicated belcw:
1.
License Condition 14 requires in part that byproduct material be used in accordanc.e with statements and re,aresentations contained in letter dated July '19,1974.
Specifically, item 10 of the letter stated that at yearly interals the instrument is returned to the manufacturer for calibratica a: d service.
Contrary to this requirement, the fluclear-Chicago Model 2612 survey instrument used to survey rooms in which licensed material was used during the period March 25. 1976 to March 21, 1979 was last calibrated March 25,1975.
This is an infraction.

10 CFR 20.401(b) requires in part that records showing the results of surveys required by 10 CR 20,E01(_b) shall be maintained.
Contrary to this requirement, reccrds of the radiation surveys purportedly perfonned monthly Nren lf ensed material was used in the Biology Department) to demonstrate compliance with 10 CFR 20.105, permissible levels of radiation in unrestricted areas were not maintained on March 21, 1979.
This is a deficiency.
