R. Reid letter to W. G. Counsil dated September 19, 1978.
Gentlemen:
Haddam Neck Plant Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2 Fire Protection In References (1), (2), and (3), the NRC issued License Amendments and associated Safety Evaluation Reports regarding Fire Pratection for the Haddam Nech Plant, Millstone Unit No.1, and Millstone Unit No. 2, respectively.
In Section 3 of each of the above References, a schedule of licensee submittals on various aspects of fire protection modifications was provided.
In the majority of cases, the scheduled submittal date was July 1,1979.
The purpose of this letter is to formally document information previously provided verbally to the NRC Staff regarding revised submittal dates.
It is currently anticipated that one submittal, addressing each of the topics included in Table 3.2 of Ref erence (1), Table 2,1 of Reference (2), and Table 3.1 of Reference (3), will be provided on or sbout July 31, 1979.
This slight delay is attributable primarily to the impact of the TMI incident and recent I&E Bulletins on the resources of Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company (CYAPCO) and Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNEC0;.
However, it is noted that the majority of the material to be provided has been the subject of telephone discussions between our respective Staff s.
It is our current understanding that resolution has been achieved regarding these topics; 360 346 7 B07 2 306'7$ '
the submittal will merely serve to formalize that understanding and fulfill the Reference (1), (2), and (3) commitments.
We trust you find the revised schedule acceptable.
Very tru y yours, CONNECTICUT YANKEE ATOMIC POWER COMPANY NORTHEAST NUCLEAR ENERGY COMPAh7
