Freedom of Information Act Request
Dear Itr. Felton:
I understand that the IJRC staf f or other agents, employees, of officials of the NRC have recently transmitted documents re-lated to the nuclear reactor accident at TIiree ?lile Island to the National Security Council (NSC), a taskforce or committee of the NSC, or to individual merbers of the NSC assenbled by the Wh ite House on or about March 30, 1979, to respond to the Three :lile Island incident.
On behalf of the Union of Concerned Scientists and pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I request access to and copies of all the documents that were so transmitted.
We anticipate that you will make the requested materials available to the Union of Concerned Scientists within the statutorily prescribed period of ten (10) working days.
We also request that you waive any applicable fees since disclosure to UCS meets the statutory standard of being "in the public interest because furnishing the information can be considered as primarily benefitting the genera l public. "

If you do not grant the waiver, however, we authorize you to incur up to $50.00 in costs.
I also request that you inform me as soon as the materials are available so that I can send a courier to pick them up.
