Dear Mr. MacDonald:
The UCLA Nuclear Energy Laboratory still wishes to ship irradiated fuel plates. We recently had a telephone conversa-tion with ICPP. They requested that we get permission from your office to place a threaded steel rod / plywood cask basket inside the CE 700 cask so that the fuel plates would not rattle around during transport. The basket would then be disposed of at ICPP. May we have permission to do so? Accompanying this letter is a diagram of the basket. Sincerely, f Y Charles E.
