AD37 INST 9900.5 CH-1 3 July 1979 SECTION "H" AUDITS a.
Periodicity of Audits.
1.
The Audits of the Qua'.ity Assurance Program as set forth in this procedure will be conducted at least once each year.
The purpose of the audit shall be to identify the degree of compliance with AD37 INST 9900.lC.
and 9900.5.
b.
Personnel to Conduct the Audit.
1.
The audits specified by this procedure shall be performed by an auditor having no responsibility in the Radiography Organication.
The auditor will be assigned by the licensee.
c.
Areas to be Covered in the Audit.
1.
Activities of the Radiographic Safety Officer, Senior Radiographer, Source Shipping Petty Officer, Radiographers, Radiographer's Assistances and Sential Monitors, using AD37 INST 9900.lC (Ga=ca-Radiography Operating Procedures, Energency Procedures, Administrative Control, Inspection and Maintenance of Radiographic equipnent, and Radiation Protection, procedures for) as it pertains to shipping, receiving, storing and handling special form radioactive material in approved containers.
2.
Training as required by AD37 INST 9900.lc.
3.
Records required by AD37 INST 9900.lC.
4.
Audit plan should be in a tep signature for=at.
The auditor shall prepare a comprehensive audit heck list utilizing AD37!NST 9900.1C as it pertains to the areas listed in C.1, C.2 and C.3 above.
In addition the audit check list will include the requirements of AD37 INST 9900.5 to deternine compliance in the following areas.
(a) Document control associated with shipping and receiving.
(b) Handling, storage and shipping of certain special form radioactive =aterial in approved shipping containers.
(c) Inspection, test and operating status of shipping containers.
(d) Quality Assurance Records required.
(e) Qualitv Assurance Audits.

Personnel to receive copies of Audit.
1.
The auditor shall send his audit to the licensee with a copy to the Radiographic Safety Officer.

Reply to Audit deficiencies.
1.
The Radiographic Safety Officer shall reply in writing to the licensee with a copy to the auditor.
The written reply will include corrective action taken.
f.
Maintenance of audits.
1.
The 'nadiographic Safety Officer will saintain a copy of all audit reports for a period of three (3) years.
