The ottachments to this letter provide a deceription of the discrepancy, potential safety implications, invectigation and planned corrective actions.

Another report, either interin or final, vill be sent on or before October 15, 1979

During norna11y perfomed final systen flou diagran review, Project Fngineering discovered that Lbe service water supply pressure to the centainacnt air coolers under an accident c ndition is noch less than the requirerents stated in FSAR 6.2.2.2.3. Consequently the containnent air ecolors could not rerove heat frcn the containrent as described in FSAR Section 6.?.2.2 and 9.2.1.3 following a rain steam line' treak or loss of coolant accident.

Bechtel's initial review has deternined the deficiency is potentially reportable.

• RECOMMENDED ACTION (Optianal)

1. De*2rnine the effect on plant safety that would have resulted had t.he calculation arror gone undetected and determine if the condition in reportable.

2. Detemine the root cause of the condition and take all necessary corrective action to preclude recurrence. State the proce.w corrective actions tahen.

3. If reportable, state the corrective action taken to assure plant s'fety.
