Attention:
Mr. George McCorkle, Chief Physical Security Licensing Branch 4
Subject:
SECURITY PERSONNEL TRAINING AND QUALIFICATION PLAN
Reference:
Letter George W. McCorkle to General Electric Company dated May 30, 1979.
Dear Mr. McCorkle:
In answer to the referenced letter, I wish to state that any additional effort on the plan would be a waste of resources. The plan as written was provided to you only to document our efforts so they would not be lost in the event GE-VNC does not divest itself of nuclear materials as agreed in January of this year. By having the plan drafted, we could respond in a much shorter time period.
To refine the plan to an acceptance level is unnecessary because SNM inventories at VNC will be below 5 kg. prior to the agreed to date of August 31, 1979.
Please be aware that all available resources are applied to maintaining ccmoli-ance during this period of inventory recuction.
It is not prudent to do other-wise.
Therefore, please be advised my intended course of action does not in-clude revision to the security personnel training plan.
Sincerely,
,rr ont 6S3
