MOTION OF TEX-LA ELECTRIC COOPER 7*IVE, INC.

FOR EXTENSION OF TIME TO RESPOND TO TEXAS UTILITIES GENERATING COMPANY'S FIRST SET OF INTERROGATORIES Tex-La Electric Cooperative, Inc.

(" Tex-La"), in accordance with section 2.711 of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Rules of Practice, respectfully moves for an extension of time until August 6, 1979, to respond to Texas Utilities Generating Com-pany's ("TUGCO") "First Set of Interrogatories and Requests for the Production of Documents," dated June 18, 1979.

In support of its motion, Tex-La states that the nature and extent of the detailed information requested by TUGCO in its discovery requests requires additional time within which to prepare an appropriate response.

b 2 '/!

UUb 790813 0 (]t)

.- Tex-La has contacted counse) for TUGCO regarding this request for an extension of time and been advised that TUGCO is amenable to an extension proviced suca extension is limited to July 24, 1979.

TUGCO indicates it is unable to consent to Tex-La's requested August 6, 1979, extension in light of the current de-position schedule.

Tex-La, in making its request for a reasonable extension of time, has not been unmindful of the deposition schedule.

Tex-La must also prepare for and participate in the taking of scheduled depositions.

The request for an extension until August 6, 1979, is made because it is, at a minimum, the amount of time necessary to satisfactorily respond to the discovery requests made by TUCCC.

The fact that depositions have been noticed simultaneously with the filing of interrogatories has no bearing on the amount of time required by Tex-La to respond to the interrogatories posed.

Based on the foregoing, Tex-La respectfully requests an extension of time until August 6, 1979, within which to respond to TUGCO's First Set of Interrogatories and Requests for the Production of Documents.

Respectfully submitted,
