Dear Mr. Denton:
This letter serves tc supplement our letter SNRC-361, dated Feb-ruary 28, 1979, deliaeating the use of newer editions of the code, supplementary addenda, and code cases in lieu of the base code.
Our letter S AC-361 states in Table 1, Item 4, "As allowed by ASME III 1974, summer 1975 Addenda, Nuclear Steam Supply System field welds have been exempted from PWHT."
This statement should be clarified such that the 1974 Edition of ASME III with Addenda through summer 1975, Subsections NB, NC and ND Paragraphs NB 4620, NC 4620 and ND 4620 shall be al~ awed fsr use at the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station.
This change has been reviewed and approved by LILCO, by our en-gineering and installation agents and by the independent code inspection agency, Hartford Steam Boiler Company, and was in-corporated into the appropriate design specifications and in-stallation documentation at the time of its implementation.
