SUBJECT:

INSPCCTOR As you know, Mr. M. Cherry indicated in a letter to J. G. Keppler, Director, Region III, dated November 20, 1978, that the assigned Resident Inspector at Midland had been "co-opted" by the licensee, Consumers Power Company.

The Office of Inspector and Auditor (0IA) has inquired into this matter and has inoicated that Mr. Cherry's allegation was not substantiated.

You are hereby requested to inform the Midland Hearing Board and the parties to the Midland hearing regarding the above findings.
