Response to IE Bulletin 78-12
Dear Mr. Grier:
This letter completes the response to IE Bulletics 78-12,78-12A, and 78-13B.
The Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station Vessel supplier, Chicago Bridge & Iron (CB!) and Babcock and Wilcox (B&W) have completed a search of low alloy, higb : ensile weld deposits used in all reactor pressure vessels built in their facilities or their suppliers facilities.
CB&I prepared a report of the results and have submitted the report to the NRC by letter, Ralph E.
Kelley, Manager CQA Services (CB&I) to G.
Wayne Reinmuth, Assistant Director, Division of Reactor Construction Inspection, NRC dated April 24, 1979.
The report certified that there were no deviations found for Peach Botton No. 2 and 3 reactor vessels.
Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO) has archive weld deposit material from the Peach Bottom vessels in storage, should verification tests be required.

Wayne Reinmuth of the NRC has advised us that it is not necessary for PECo to submit a separate copy of the vessel manufacturer's report to the NRC; accordingly we hereby incorporate by reference the CB&I report as PECo's response to the referenced Bulletin.
