1973 MEMORANDUM FOR: File FROM:

Phillip R. Reed Environmental Effects Research Branch Division of Safeguards, Fuel Cycle and Environmental Research SUBJECT :

STATUS OF RADI0 IODINE AIR SAMPLER AT THREE MILE ISLAND NUCLEAR STATION On May 18,1979, John D. Kinneman of NRC's Region I Office of Inspection and Enforcement telephoned me to say one emergency radioiodine air sampler is currently in use at Three Mile Island, and that he wanted to keep using the sampler for as long as the helicopter was available to the emergency teams. He said BNL told him NRC/RES want to know the status of the sampler.

I told him to keep the sampler for as long as it was useful to him, and to send it to C. Distenfeld, BNL, when he was through with it. John agreed to do this.
