Enclosed herewith is a report entitled " Interpretation Report on the Aeromagnetic Coverage of the Skagit Nuclear Power Project" by Exploration Data Consultants, Inc. (Edcon), dated April, 1979.

This report constitutes the interpretation of aeromagnetic data acquired for Applicants in response to the NRC Staff requests for information of June, 1978. Edcon's report will become an appendi.:

investigations performed over the last year in response to the NRC Staff requests for information. As we indicated at the conference of counsel on April 24, 1979. Applicants will distribute their com-plete report by June 1, 1979. We fully expect that this report, including the enclosed Edcon report, will be offered as an exhibit at the July evidentiary session.

Please note that a number of the figures to the Edcon report have been removed from the report and are contained in a separate envelope marked Proprietary Information. These illustrations have been submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, by letter of Gordon W. Jacobsen dated April 16, 1979, with the request that they be withheld from public disclosure, pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790. The grounds for Applicants' request are that the documents contain con-307 &

The Commission has not yet determined whether it will grant Applicants' request. We are pro"iding this proprietary informa-tion to the Board for its inspection pending the Commission's decision. Should that decision still be pending at the time of the July evidentiary session, or should the Commission have decided by then that the information should be withheld from public dis-closure, we will request that the proprietary information be with-held from public discicsure when introducci into evidence.

For the Board's information, we have previously given a copy of the enclosed Edcon report to intervenor SCANP and have offered them the opportunity to inspect the proprietary information at cur office pursuant to a protective agreement.

We are also enclosing a ccpy of a regional geologic mpa, pre-pared by Bechtel, and a copy of this same map with an overlay of 100 gamma magnetic contours. Both of these maps, which are marked preliminary, are offered for the assistance of persons reviewing the Edcon repert. These maps will also become appendices to Applicants' report and thus will be offered into evidence at the July evidentiary session.
