Forwarded for Nuclear Regulatory Commission review are 41 copies of Amendment 3 to the New Haven 1 and 2 Environmental Report. Included as Amendment 3 are the following:

1. NRC Questions and Responses
2. N2w Haven Nuclear Station Environmental Report page changes Amendment 3 provides responses to all of the questions requested in the referenced letter of April 23, 1979. These questions resulted from your review of the analysis of the cooling tower and therma 2 discharges from the Station.

Amendment 3 also provides responses to the two remaining questions requested from the Cost-Benefit Analysis Branch in the letter of March 12, 1979. These questions were subsecuently revised in the referel.ced le'.ter of May 25, 1979, and the responses were developed to ref'iect chis revision. In addition, responses to questions regarding tne water availability supply for the Mohawk River alternate site, which were also requested in the May 25, 1979 letter, have been included.

Amendment 3 also includes pages changed within the New Haven Nuclear Station Environmental Report as a result of questions of the staff of the New York State Public Service Commission requested by their letters of April 5, April 13 and April 19, 1979.

In order to keep the State and Federal Applications the same, identical pages relating to the proposed nuclear station at New Haven have been submitted to both the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the New York State Board on Electric Generation Siting and the Environment (Case 80008). These changed pages have been designaued Amendment 3 to each of the respective Appli-cations.
