U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION RESPONSE TO FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA) REQUEST PART I.D -- COMMENTS NRC RESPONSE NUMBER 1

2019-000402 11 1

RE~~~SE D INTERIM J.; I FINAL This acknowledges receipt of your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request that you submitted via email on August 20, 2019, as described.

Your request does not include any subject matter parameters, nor does it identify senders or recipients of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) by name. We explored whether the NRC could conduct a reasonable search (that is, a search performed by person familiar with the subject of the requested records that would not impose an undue burden on the agency) to locate any responsive records; we concluded we cannot do so given the limitations of our email technology.

Nor would it be reasonable for us to ask all current NRC employees to search their own emails or records.

However, we did conduct a search of ADAMS, the NRC's official recordkeeping system, and was able to locate the enclosed listing of responsive documents. The one non-publicly available document listed may be located at: https://
