Dear Mr. Keppler:
As was indicated in Reference (a), Commonwealth Edison's responsibility with respect to IE Bulletin 78-12 through 78-12B was expected to be discharged by submittal by General Electric of the evaluation requested for the LaSalle Units 1 and 2 vessels and by subnittal by Westinghouse of the evaluation for the Byron Units 1 and 2 and Braidwood Units 1 and 2 vess_ls.
With one exception, the requested evaluation has been completed and certification both by the vessel manufacturers and vessel suppliers has been submitted to the NRC.
The exception is LaSalle County Unit 1, for which completion of the evaluation and formal certification will be completed by August 17, 1979.
A summary of the documentation records for each of the subject vessels is attached for your information.
If there are any further questions in this regard, please direct them to this office.
