A TYPICAL WELD MATERIAL IN REACTOR PRESSURE VESSEL kILDS Consumers Power Company participated in a generic review of Combustion Engineering (CE) reactor pressure vessel welds which culminated in a CE report dated June 8, 1979 and entitled, "Information Requested by IE Bulletin 78-12, A Typical Weld Material in Reactor Pressure Vessel Welds." This report addresses all of the items in IE Bulletin 78-12, 12A and 12B with the exception of availability of archival weld material and has been transmitted to the NRC by Combustion Engineering Inc.
Consumers Power Company has found no archive weld material for the Palisades reactor vessel.
This letter, along with the above referenced CE report, constitutes full compliance with IE Bulletin 78-12 dated September 29, 1978 as amended by Supplements 12A (11-24-78) and 12B (3-19-79).
