Arkansas Nuclear One - Units 1 E 2 Docket Nos. 50-313 & 50-368 License Nos. DPR-51 & NPF-6 IE Bulletin No. 79-09 (File: 1510.1, 2-1510.1)

Gentlemen:

The following is provided in response to your IE Bulletin 79-09.

We have determined that there are no GE type AK-2 circuit breakers installed in our Unit 2 (NPF-6). Additionally, we have no intentions of using the subject breakers in Unit 2 in the future.

We have identified two (?) locations in Unit 1 (DPR-51) where we have GE type AK-2A 25-1 circuit breakers installed. These are installed in parallel in the Control Rod Drive System. We have no plans to install additional breakers of the same type in Unit 1 in the future.

The GE type AK-2 circuit breakers instelled in the CRDS of ANO-1 are inspected and maintained as required by our CRD Breaker In-Service Inspection Procedure 1405.17. This inspection is performed every refueling outage by experienced Plant Maintenance Electricians. The recommended corrective actions as described in GE Service Advice Letter No.175/CPDD) 9.3 are incorporated within the above mentioned procedure.
