Dear Mr. Seyfrit:
In response to IE Bulletin 78-12, " Atypical Weld Material in Reactor Vessel Welds," superceded by IE Bulletin 78-12A, NPPD has been, to date, unsuccessful in our ef forts to obtain the necessary information to make the required report.
Presently, a combined effort by Combustion Engi-neering, General Electric, and NPPD is underway to compile this data.
It is requested, therefore, that NPPD's reporting deadline of March 23, 1979, be extended to May 4, 1979.
This request for e < tension is based on the fact that Combustion Engineering has indicated, to us, that they will provide the information necessary for the report by tby 1, 1979.
