This is to confirm our telephone call to Mr. K. Baker, NRC Region III, at 0955 hours0.0111 days <br />0.265 hours <br />0.00158 weeks <br />3.633775e-4 months <br /> on November 20, 1976.
During that conversation we reported that an abnormal occurrence involved total chlorine residual at, the condenser outlet exceeding the 0.10 ppm limit during the November 19, 1976 2200 hours0.0255 days <br />0.611 hours <br />0.00364 weeks <br />8.371e-4 months <br /> chlorination program in violation of Appendix "B" Technical Specifications Section 2.2. 1.2.
During routine monitoring for chlorine residual on November 19,
- 1976, the Chemical Technician found >0. 1 ppm residual at 2210 hours0.0256 days <br />0.614 hours <br />0.00365 weeks <br />8.40905e-4 months <br /> with a peak at 0.15 ppm at 2211 hours0.0256 days <br />0.614 hours <br />0.00366 weeks <br />8.412855e-4 months <br />.
At this point, the technician left the sampling station and secured the chlorination system by 2215 hours0.0256 days <br />0.615 hours <br />0.00366 weeks <br />8.428075e-4 months <br />.
Chlorine residual measurements at 2220 and 2230 hours0.0258 days <br />0.619 hours <br />0.00369 weeks <br />8.48515e-4 months <br /> indicated no detectable chlorine.
We are continuing our investigation and will submit the required report within seven days as required by Appendix "B" Technical Specifications Section 5.4.2.1.
