Contromatics Division Docket No. 99900307/79-01 NOTICE OF DEVIATION Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted on April 9-13, 1979, it appeared that certain of your activities were not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements as indicated below:
Criterion V of Appendix B to 10 CFR 50 states in part, " Activities affecting quality shall be prescribed by documented instructions and shall be accomplished in accordance with these instructions."
a.
Contromatics Quality Assurance Manual, Section 13.0, Revision 1, Subsection 13.1.1 states,"that all tools, gages, instruments and other measuring and testing devices used in manufacturing activities affecting quality are calibrated and properly adjusted at specific periods or use intervals to maintain accuracy."
Contrary to the above, none of the tools and instruments used in the manufacturing activity have been calibrated and adjusted.
b.
In addition, Subsection 13.2.3 states in part, "All pressure gages shall be clearly marked to show preferable range, that is, gage range should be between 1.5 and 4.0 times the expected pressure reading.
Contrary to the above, pressure gages CC-PGM-0-5000-2; 0-30-2; D-1000-2; and D-000-2; were not marked to show preferable testing.ange.
