Request for Additional Information 1.
Indicate who (by title) is responsible for the following activities:
a) assuring that all radioactive material shipping packages are designed and manufactured under a QA program approved by the NRC (all packages fabricated af ter the effective date of the QA programl.
b) assuring that all QA functions are conducted in accordance with the latest applicable changes to governing documents.
c) performing the regulatory required inspections and tests in accordance with written procedures.
d) assuring that these inspections and tests are performed.
2.
In parts 1.5,1.6, and 1.7, delete the introductory words, " Statements should be provided as follows," so that the QA nrogram provides actual commitments.
l 3.
In 1.7, " Audits," provide a statement that each activity related to radioactive material packaging will be audited at least once per year by personnel having no responsibility in the activity being audited.
