Dear Mr. Grier:
In accordance with the reporting requirements of Connecticut Yankee Technical Specifications, Section 6.9.2.a(9), the following preliminary report 79-07/IP is hereby submitte L While performing a walk down of seiscie Category I piping systems as part of a progran to verify operability which is required by IE Bulletiri 79-02 Rev. 1, it was discovered that one pipe support en the servt a water piping was not the type specified on the print. The investigatioe performed showed that the existing support does not provide pt per seisuic support.
This support is currently being changed out to one which dces provide the proper seismic support.
An investigation will be performed to verify that the print is co : rect and that there is a requirement for this new support.
No other problems of this.ype have been found during the investigation of the accessible seismic Category I piping supports.
A fo' low-up report will be submitted within fourteen (14) days.
