Dear Mr. Keppler:

The following supplemental information is presented in response to IE Bulletin No. 79-07 enclosed with Reference 1 and in addition to our previous response (Reference 2).

Substitute the following for the last paragraph of page 3 of Reference 2:

"The seismic analysis of these piping systems has been performed using response spectrum modal superposition methods of dynamic analysis.

In the seismic analysis of piping system 1 through 5, the global response summation has been performed using global response summation code 1 (see Attachment B) of the PIPESD computer program.

In this global response summation code, the modal partici-pation factor is formed by the square root of sum of squares method and the horizontal spectra in either the global X-direction or the global Z-direction is applied simultaneously with the vertical spectra in the global Y-direction.
