This is in regard to your application dated April 26, 1979, concerning the shipment of low levels of plutonium bearing wastes in the Model No. Super Tiger packaging.

In connection with our review, we need an analysis (or test) demonstrating that the fiberglass reinforced plywood containere within the Super Tiger packaging provides containment under accident conditions of transport.

It is our understanding that Revision No. 5, dated April 26, 1979, to Certificate of Compliance flo. 6400, satisfies your requirements concerning plutonium waste shipments within DUT Specification 17H steel drums.

Please advise us within thirty (30) days from the date of this letter when this information will be provided.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, we will be pleased to meet with you and your staff.
