R. 7 eishman, Chief, Reactor Operations and Nuclear Support Branch FROM:
R. F. Warnick, Chief, Reactor Projects Section 2 SU3 JECT:
REPORT OF ACTIVITIES AT THREE MILF ISLMO I arrived at the Harrisburg, PA airport the evening of April 2, 1979, and at Trailer City about 9:30 p.m.
The balance of that shift and most of the folicwing shift was spent working on the sequence of events.
I left the site at about 6:30 p.m. on April 3.
I worked the 4:00 pm to midnight shift starting on Apcil 3 and each day including April 10.
The first four days were spent on the se-quence of events - reviewing charts, sequence of events typewriter output, react 1=eter data output, and helping to establish i=portant chronology milestones.
The remaindar of the days were spent func-tioning as an IE Shift Supervisor in the IE Trailer (t/8).
I returned to RIII en April 11, 1979.
The lice nsee's ef forts to organi::e Trailer City, provide f acilities, and supply the infor=ation requested by NRC were outstanding.
I did not spenc any time on the island so I have no cot =ent, on the licensees site opera tons.
I was surprisec.o find that NRP. had assumed (or been given) the lead role in directing NRC's onsite efforts following this significant ev%c Yot, and your people are to be co== ended for the good job you have done in responding to the event.
